Citywing celebrates first anniversary of Blackpool services

Citywing, operators of flights between Blackpool Airport and the Isle of Man and Belfast, is celebrating its first anniversary of services from the resort.

The airline was the first commercial operator to return to Blackpool after the airport's short temporary closure in late 2014, and now operates two or three flights from the resort daily.

Blackpool Airport, which sits at the heart of the Blackpool Airport Enterprise Zone and is integral to the future development of the area, remains a popular airfield for leisure flights and private aviation, as well as continuing to act as the base for Bond Helicpoters' operations out to Irish Sea drilling platforms.
